Getting OpenAccess
Academic Users
The Silicon Integration Initiative, Inc. (Si2) provides a free membership for students and university faculty of an accredited institution. Through the Si2 membership you can download the OpenAccess software, which includes libraries, header files, source code and documentation. In addition you have access to the OpenAccess trackers and forum. Follow these steps to obtain the free membership:
- Apply online for the Si2 membership.
Choose
Academic Membership: Individual Affiliated with Accredited Institution (Fee $0.00)
as membership level. - Sign and mail the OpenAccess Internal Use And Distribution License (V4 October 1, 2004). To speed up the process you can fax the signature page to Contracts Administration at Si2 (Fax: 512-342-2037) . In any case you need to mail the entire license with an original signature to Si2, Contracts Administration, 9111 Jollyville Rd, Suite 250, Austin, TX, 78759 .
- After receipt of the faxed license the application should be processed in a few hours, the latest by the next business day. You will then receive a notification and can register your new account.
- Now you can download OpenAccess at OpenAccess Releases.
The above procedure for obtaining an academic membership is current as of 2006-12-07. In the future, Si2 may change the location of the forms on their web site or modify the licensing procedures. Non-Academic Users
Non-academic users should contact Si2 to obtain the appropriate membership. For individuals a non-corporate membership is offered for a moderate fee.
